were never afraid of making mistakes and
learning from it!"
Hello, you conceived the band as a duo, however I can see
you have added a new member to the band. Could
you tell us more in detail about Soulcollector´s departure
and subsequently Serena´s inclusion?
still have a friendly relationship with 'Soulcollector', but
our working method and claims as musicans were just too
different to continue the project within this constellation.
when I met Serena for the first time more than 10 years ago,
she was singing in a gothic- wave band quite successfully.
we are a married couple, but in all those years we never
made music together... Well I guess it was bound to happen.
Since your creation in 2013, I would like to ask what are
you most proud of achieving as a band?
were never afraid of making mistakes and learning from it!
I'm aware that we're just an underground metal band like
hundreds of others.
People have 'Fleshgod Apocalypse', so why should anyone be
waiting for 'Wendigo Psychosis'?
We have made big progress in a short time, but in spite of
all the pride a degree of humility is never wrong.
You seems to be a very productive musican, in March 2015
your first full lenght album saw the light, and now just 9
months after you have a new album ready. Could
you tell us deeply about this completely new opus?
started the songwriting for 'Herzblut' when 'Blood Moon
Eclipse' was'nt even released, because we had a huge delay
with the vocal recordings at that time.
The sound on our new release is outstanding compared to
'Blood Moon Eclipse' and we had some great professionals
working in the background. The recording had a
liberating effect, after I split up with SoulCollector I
thought to myself: "Now more than ever!" knowing
that people certainly would interpret the situation as
a definitive end for us. So you could say that the whole
album is the result of an act of defiance, nothing more nor
Your previous "Blood Moon Eclipse" was never
released in physical format. What would happen with the new
release "Herzblut" and
what kind of further plans you have for it?
'Blood Moon Eclipse' is
avaible as a free download and despite all the love for
music, we have bills to pay and dogs to feed. A physical
release of 'Herzblut' is conceivable, provided that enough
people will download the album on our website, so we will be
able to cover at least a part of the costs.
Latest release from your camp is - LP „ Herzblut “. Try
to enlighten this material to us. How long time it took to
record it and in what manner you wrote ideas for this
material? Are you working both together as a unity, or
everything comes from you as the main composer?
recording was done quite fast, but we have an old-fashioned
way of songwriting: Jamming on several instruments,
imagining riffs, developing song structures, writing down
musical notation, lyrics and revise everything.
album is inspired by horror literature and movies a lot, but
we also wrote lyrics based on true stories, for example the
case of Anatoly Moskvin.
All in all it's darker and harder than everything we have
6. What do you think that is most important criterion
for you assessing the value of the album? Is it your
personal feeling and knowledge about the album, the press,
the response of the audience etc? Also, when it is the
safest time spot to evaluate i
you are not personally satisfied with what you're doing, you
can not expect people to appreciate your work. You need to
know where you stand and what you want to achieve. Withstand
criticism goes with it, but I know that we're making steps
in the right direction.
7. One thing I like about the band is the design of
the cover artworks, really astonishing. Did you guys come
with the concept??
catchy artwork can be an deciding factor for downloading the
album, so we leave it to the professionals.
designs of our artworks are done by 'moonringdesign'. We
just choose the one's we like most.
What do you think about the current Black/Death Metal scene
worldwide. Which are the bands you have the biggest respect
for? Which are the most outstanding and influential ones
these days and what does black metal mean to you at all?
are just too many great bands out there!
I still remember my first metal concert. The Haunted,
Moonspell and Cradle of Filth.
I walked into the hall, there was this guy with the figure
of a silverback gorilla. He laid his arm around my shoulder
and just starred at me.
a while, he nodded in agreement, gave me his beer, put
a cigarette in my mouth and became passed out drunk.
this moment all the funniest, sexiest and greatest moments
in my life had all to do with metal.
people are just taking it too serious "You're using
keys and clear vocals in your music? This is so
untrve!" but I respect their opinion.
What do you love to do in your free time when you are not
busy with any of your music duties?
those things kids are usually doing these days: going
out, visiting friends, smoking drinking and fucking. I just
try to have as much fun as possible until death takes me.
10. (Serena) A question I ask to all the women that
are part of this scene, as it is a little unusual, but these
few make the difference. How do you explain the fact that
they reach such a high level? Due to competition? Did
you ever face any difficulty in your path?
it seems to me that women have it even easier to achieve
success, of course a cute girl will attract some additional
attention within a primarily male community.
11. Well, my pal, that´s all for now, thanks a lot
for your co-operation. I hope you enjoy this interview..
