......::::UNSEEN PERCEPTION (Netherlands)::::......
Date: 3rd. March, 2013
(Answers by Billy Stewart - Rhythm Guitar)

UNSEEN PERCEPTION in a band from Netherlands, they have pretty short years of existence, however they have gained a huge impact in the local scene and have gained a very good chance to TOUR around the country for the next months. Let´s read what they have to tell us about the band and their activities.

1. Hails Billy, welcome to the Pain Fucktory. First off,  please introduce your band to those who didn’t know UnseeN PerceptioN, what can they expect from you and your music?

'We are UnseeN PerceptioN, a 5-man Death Metal formation from the Netherlands. We aim to create a truly filthy, in-your-face metal experience: Dark/Fast riffing, intense grooves and sharp song structures. We give it all to make your heads spin as much as ours. There will always be blood!'

2. You are a relatively young band, you were established in 2010 but yet you solidified in 2012. How would you characterize the development of your band during this period? What are your greatest achievements and downfalls?

'We have had numerous amounts of changes in our line-up over the course of 2010. In this time, we experimented with different approaches to our music and formula, and to be fair, we played our asses off at the time [we still do!]. Once we gained a clear vision of what we wanted to do with our current lineup, the ideas finally started to flow fast and furiously.'

'We definitely see 'Parasitic Paranoia', our debut EP, as one of our greatest achievements, as well as my own personal milestone. For all of us, including myself, this EP was our first stepping stone into the music world, and it gave us a very nice amount of exposure, a great starting point for developing ourselves more...and a bad-ass tour to boot!'

3. Let´s concentrate on the 7 tracks included on your very first release. you have a very solid song structure with heavy riffs and deep growls. could we expect the same musical direction with the new tracks to be included on the coming album? Can you tell us a little bit about how the recording process is going?

'We definitely want to keep the flow of heavy riffs and strong, solid growls going, and expand on our current formula. However, with the arrival of Justus, our new bassist, we seem to be writing with the intent of including a lot more Blackened Death influences. It has been working out great, and writing new songs has been a blast.'

'We are finishing up writing for the next album, and we expect to hit the studio after touring from march to may! Any other info is still on the low, but expect more on this soon!'

4. It seems like in a short period (only 3 years of existence, with only 1 active year) and just one EP in your hands, you have reached a very solid fan base and exposure, is this a matter of talent or what?

'We are truly blessed to have a great fanbase. From the guys and girls who know us personally and have been there to support us from the very beginning, to the new faces who come to see our shows and have beers with us...Nothing of what we have done could ever be achieved without the awesome support of you guys!'

'I can honestly say i wouldn't be as motivated as I am now without you guys. YOU ROCK!'

5. Let´s talk about the Touring side of the band. Do you think it is most important to present your music in live shows instead of putting in more attention to record studio albums? How did you get the chance to arrange this TOUR , how many shows do you plan to play and what are your expectations from the audience?

'We aim to dedicate certain periods of the year to both aspects. While touring, we focus almost all of our practicing time on how we can create the best show possible, from the live sets to the stage antics and whatnot. In the back end of summer, we stop gigging for a while in order to focus on songwriting and recording. We do want our fans to have value for their money! Or a beer or two...'

'so, a time and place for everything!'

'We plan to play all weekends through march, with a big number shows in April and may aswell. We have heard alot about the crazy, balls-out metal community in the east of the Netherlands, and i sure hope we can meet 'em soon!'

6. How do you manage to transfer the violence and force of your Death Metal on stage? What is the special formula for an UNSEEN PERCEPTION show?

'We want to get as close up and personal as possible. With that in mind, people are able to get into that same level of terror and smash the place up with us. [Not literally, we'd like a second gig in the same venue once in a while].'

'Don't bring new clothes.'

7. Speaking about your debut EP. It has a very brilliant production and a a solid sound. Can you tell us a little bit about the people who were behind it? I Also read it was released on both formats, Vinyl and CD. how many copies have you sold until now and which remote countries has your music reached?

'Our EP was produced by Youri de Bruijn, owner of Youri Studios. He's a great guy who really knows his stuff aswell, so working with him was more than a pleasure. I knew him personally through my teacher, and he recommended him for the job. We were sold!'

'In terms of our CD's, i can't really say! We sold our first batch by january last year, but we haven't been really keeping track since then. Times are good, though! We have reached a favourable amount of praise from America, Germany, Canada and even a few guys from Japan (i wish i knew what they were saying, though) , to name a few!'

8. What is the current situation with the Death Metal Scene in the Netherlands? Are there enough young and talented bands to support and enliven the genre?

'Oh hell yea, definitely. We have seen and played with bands that have so much talent, drive and love for what they do. Here in the Netherlands, the venue scene is brimming! Fresh line-ups every week, HUGE support from dedicated organisations, official and unofficial communities, and great places to play, or to go see a show, wherever you are!'

9. What do you think about video clips? Would you like to do one for UNSEEN PERCEPTION in the future? What are some of your ideas for this?

'We think it would be an awesome idea to make a music video. We have a few ideas in our heads that we want to share when everything's on the table, but most of our priorities right now are on touring and writing!'

'2014 Will be our year for an MV, we hope!'

10. What music format do you prefer the most; vinyl, CD, or cassettes? Do you think it is really good to release one album in these three mentioned formats?

'There's a distinct clarity in vinyl that you can't really get from CD's, but i'm not one to complain. There is still a huge amount of people who exclusively buy vinyl for that reason, and i fully understand!'

'As a band, releasing your materials in the broadest way possible gives you so much more leverage and possibilities, i encourage everyone to try everything you can in order to reach your fans, and find new ones!'

11. Now that you are ready to release a complete full length album, Are you in search for a record deal? How does it work out?

'We are currently aligned with Leviathan Agency Bookings. They have been absolutely amazing to us over the past few months in terms of getting gigs and getting our music around! We know a fair number of the bands who are with us here, and they are all good friends of ours. At the moment, we are more than content and we couldn't ask for more!'

'We also want some more time to develop ourselves and our music, before we take the big plunge. When the time comes, we hope that our dedication will get rewarded!'

12. What would you consider the hardest part about playing in an Underground band?

'Getting around!'

'Being on the road is tiring as hell, especially since we're doing it all ourselves! Sometimes we end up spending more time on organising and getting our shit together than actually playing!'

'It's times like this when you really appreciate the support of your friends and family, and the people who come to see what you've got to show for all the effort you've done!'

13. OK man, time to end. If I have missed anything please feel free to add. Last Words.

'Don't be a stranger! Want us to play in your city? Hit us up! Have a beer with us!'

'The new album is underway, our tour is kickin' in! New merch is coming, times are good! Let's make the UnseeN seen!'
