who listens to us, can expect to hear something old,

If you listen our song and you ask yourself; ”why did they

Greetings here. Let´s focus on your beginning first, after
several line-up changes and bandnames you finally become as
TREATMENT. It was difficult for you to get solidiefied and
established in the Finnish Scene?
When we finally found all members, in november 2006,
we didn´t have much of a problem playing together, because
all guys knew each other from childhood. Also Vesa, Lassi
and Joona had played together before, between 2000-2001,
when they had their first band.
You are almost
nine years on the scene. I would like to turn back and
remember one positive and one negative moment of your
Every song, every demo, every gig,
every fan has been our best moment. At this point, there
hasn´t been any negative moments. Always searching the
positive side, not negative.
You are basically a thrash metal
based band, however i have noticed you also includes some
progressive and mid-paced elements. To those who didn’t
know or those who want to know, what can they expect from
you and your music?
Yes, basically thrash metal, but getting
ideas and influences here and there, whatever sounds good to
us. People who listens to us, can expect to hear something
old, something new, something familiar and something really
odd. If you listen our song and you ask yourself; ”why did
they do it like that”, we´ve succeeded.
would you describe TREATMENT as a whole? Is there anything
that makes the group different compared to other bands in
We have been breaking the norms since the
beginning. We never wanted to be mainstream, or
”easy-to-listen” music. Doing it our way. We challenge
ourselves when we make and play songs and it´s great to
hear that listeners feel challenged too, and they´re liking
it. We make our music as we want, no-one tells us what to do
or how to do. We don´t try to fit into any specific genre.
I am curious to know more things about your releases. Tell
us something about your previous Demos. Where did you record
them? And tell us if you are satisfied with the feedback you
received so far?
5 demos so far, all recorded in MR-studio, which is Joona´s
fathers home studio in our home village. -NorthWind (2007),
our very first demo, sounded awful but old school. Back
then, band was still called NorthWind. -Mental Distraction
(2008), title song is still in our setlist. Band name
changed to TreaTmenT. -Life As We Know It (2009),
progressive influences start to hear in this. -Schizophrenic
(2011), first demo which was mixed and mastered by
DropHammer Studios. -Verdict (2012), Containing our first
”ballad”, Last Day. Also M&M by DropHammer Studios.
Sixth is coming and it´s going to be bigger and better.
Surprised? Me neither...
How would you describe TREATMENT live?
Are live shows a central aspect for the
band? What have been the best and worst live experiences
Playing gigs are always fun. It´s great to see
strange and familiar people moshing and enjoying our music.
Being on stage is one of the best things in this business.
Hard to say which gig has been the best or worst.
7. I always enjoy
hearing what life is like outside of a band. What can you
share with us about what your lives are like outside of the
kids, jobs, hobbies?
different guys, five different lives. At this moment four of
us are in a relationship and one likes to be single. three
guys still at school, two guys work and one guy has kids.
Our lives in numbers, there it is... No need for another
hobby, music is all we need!
. What are your thoughts about the underground scene
and the Finnish scene in particular?
Finland has very rich metal scene, lots of metal
bands everywhere. Unfortunately, many bands play mainstream,
what people like to hear, not what they like to play. Very
few tries to sound unique.
questions my friend. Just thanks for your time and good luck
for your future plans. Closing is yours…
Whatever you do. there´s always someone who
complains... Fuck that, do it your way!
