learned that music or making music is the
perfect way to escape the daily routine.
What is the main conclusion you have learned during these 7
years of trajectory about life
and music being two inseparable things?
We learned that music or making music is the perfect way
to escape the daily routine. Additionally we all
became very good friends during these years of practising,
experimenting, failing, writing songs and playing concerts.
2. After hearing your "Aesthetic
Abomination" I have to say your music is very fresh
and strong, though your musical influences are obvious; how
did you work this album? What did
you plan to put into it?
On the beginnig it was very hard to write anything as
nobody had experience in songwriting. So we tried
to write a song, make the best out of it, play it live and
see if the people like it. In the end we had 10 songs which
were ok for us so we decided to make this record. But we
have to say that each song stands for itself and a bigger
idea of what we wanted so say with the album or what could
be a message we want to share with our listeners hasn’t
existed. We just wanted to make some good songs.
This debut was released couple of years ago, so it might be
the right time to make conclusions... Are you still
satisfied with the whole record? What was the most
surprising about the welcoming of
Of course, at the moment we notice a lot of things
which we would improve if we wrote this album now but we
think for the firts release it is not too bad if you
consider that most of us had no musical education.
At the moment we are working on some new stuff
and we hope we can show soon that we developed further. The
most surprising thing was that we really sold some albums ;)
Judging by the songtitles I see
you are talking about some important matters. What are the
important components of
In our songs we are talking about things which are
import for us like friendship, troubles of all kinds and of
One song, it is called "live goes on" is about
a tragic happening of one band member as he nearly died.
But on the other hand there are some songs where the
lyrics are complete shit and does not mean anything.
Austria is well known as a huge breeding ground for metal bands.
How is the metal scene in your country?
In Austria there are many really good metal bands but
unfortunately there are not many or much to less big stages
where they get the opportunity to show their talent.
Do you often play gigs in Austria, and how does it occur? Is
it in small bars, or is there some bigger
"official" concert places for
metal bands? Is the crowd numerous during your live
Normally we play quite small concerts on
festivals, bars and biker events.
It is always different. Sometimes it is crowded and
somtimes just our small fan group stands front of the stage.
But we have to say that for us it is not that important
if it is a big concert hall or a small bar. The main
thing is that the audience likes it and that we have fun on
Do you think METHROX is a good live band? What do your gigs
consist of, and are some cover-songs played in
front of the beheaded audience?
There is lot of room for improvement concerning live
performance as well for our songs. But we are
giving all to make the the audience headbang.
I’ve noticed your pretty solid technical skills. Are you a
self-learner, or do you have some musical education?
Do you think that musical education is important, when
creating, or playing music? Or
All of us learned the instruments as well as singing by
ourselfes except the drummer.
We think it is important to know at least the basics to
write songs and that’s why the drumers knowledge is so
important for us.
But on the other hand some songs might have not been
emerged if we all had perfect musical education. So it is
important to have the right mix of both.
As a metal band do you feel that you’re a part of a
greater worldwide community of metalheads?
Yes, but a very small one as there are
so many great bands and we are still at the beginning of
writing our own songs.
It might be too early, but what can we expect from the
It will be lot different to the first realease. It will
contain various types of metal and we are working on some
accoustic stuff as well. But we won`t hurry as we just want
to release this record at the time the complete work suits
our needs and this can take some time.
Well, I´ve got no more questions! What would you say to our
readers in conclusion?
Check out our album and tell us what is OK and what is shit.
Each comment helps us to improve.
