1. Hail Brothers! Let’s start with beginning. What inspired to you to found the band? How difficult was to deal with problems at the very early times?

The band was formed in autumn 2007 by SimoneM (Keys) and Antonio (Voice), with the aim to play death doom metal with psychedelich influences, the the other musicians joined the band that became active in spring 2008 and starting with the live activity in autumn 2008.
The only big problems we had was to find the good people to play this genere in our area, really few musicians, really less that play metal, and even less that like this particular genere, in fact we were 5 people recording the first record, and we found our bass player Agostino only in spring 2011.

2. You have a very interesting approach about Greek Mithology behind your bandname, could you share some of this to the readers??

There are only a couple of thing that we are connected with greek mythology, one is the name of the band, which is inspired to the Echo nymph (we added the parentesis and the big letters just to simulate a sound wave).
Another one is in the logo, where we put the symbols of the constellations of Lion and Aries, which both have really good legends beside that really fit in our sound, it’s pretty long to explain, I can say that they represent our double nature, aggressive on one hand and melancholic on the other.

3. Tell us a little about the album "Devoid Of Illusions and the feedback you are getting from the Underground Scene?

Devoid of Illusion was recorded in November 2010 at the Priory Recording Studios and the CMAT Studios in Birmingham (UK) with Greg Chandler from Esoteric as producer, engeneer and as guest on the song you can hear on your compilation "Sounds from our of Space".
It took 2 weeks in the studio to make that album, and was an amazing experience.
We were pretty slow in working on the album, we stared to watch for the artwork only in March 2011 and finally we decided to ask to Eliran Kantor (that worked also for bands like Testament, Sodom, Atheist, Sigh) and we are 100% satisfied, the result is much better that our best expectations, and he also loved to do that, he never worked with a band like us, so it was a kind of challenge for him, and I personally think he won it.
We signed a contract with the Russian label Solitude Prod/BadMoodMan Records in August 2011 I think, and the album finally came out in November 2011.

4. Doom Metal as a genre is pretty much a dead, beaten, molested and rotten horse by now. How does (EchO) try to separate themselves from the crap bands into this genre and stay fresh? In your opinion, how much did the Doom Metal scene change compared to the late '80-s/early '90-s?

The scene changed a lot, in those years it was just stared, now there are tons of bands in the genere, if we sum all the bands of the sub-generes of doom.
Honeslty we don’t think to what genere we’re playin’ when we write songs, we just let the flow of emotions and ideas run where it wants to go.
I think that this helped a lot in keeping our sound personal, also if of course you can recognize some influences in there, but well, there is no music invented from zero, one other thing that really helped us is the fact that we are 6 people, with different musical backgrounds, sometimes also completely opposite, this can create big fights when we write new songs, but we created a good chemistry between ourselves.

5. It´s undeniable too clear influences on your music apart from Classic and "Grunt" Doom metal from such genres like Progressive, Rock and Phsychedelic. How you manage to fuse all together in a great way?

As I said before we all have different musical backgrounds, and also in terms of taste we are really different from each other, but this helped us a lot in variating our influences and to create a mix of different musical generes.

6. You have recently launched your brand new videoclip for the song "Once Was A Man", tell us about the realization of this.

The videoclip was prodced during April 2011 by Black Nigth Productions, an small Italian company that works really well and is really professional, Silvia Albertini and Francesco Berta worked on the video and came up with really good ideas that we love since the beginning, also if they were a little different of what we originally thought. The videoclip besides the musicians scenes reprocudes the situation when the lyrics came up to our singer, or at least the mood that produced those lyrics.

7. OK man, I would like to thank you for your time and help, Any final messages for fans or people who might be interested in checking out your music?
