You has been hacking and thrashing for over 8 years now
(Since Without Fear times). When you started to play music,
did you envision you would still be doing it today?
Our calendar started 2010 as we found together as Centrate.
Everything before was training and finding our sound.
Everyone of us started to learn our instruments since school
days. Some day Manu started to search for some other stupid
boys to start a Metalband. Soon he found Niki, Dippel, Chris

You have just one release published. What kind of ambitions
did you have after finishing the recording of this 4-track
release of our EP " Tiger Force " brought us the
ball rolling with what we had admittedly not counted . Our
Songs got international airtime in radioshows, the EP got a
lot of very cool reviews we got new shows offers. This gave
us a decent kick and the lust for Thrash Metal is bigger
You play thrash in a classic way. How much thought has gone
into finding the right kind of sound and how much has been
pure gut feeling?
a lot of pure feeling, when we are writing new Songs. But we
always try to put our own mark into our sound. We like to
sound like a thrash band, but in our own way. More dark and
Centrate is a band that plays live very often, and now you
have just started a short 10 days tour. Talk about that
experience. Any other upcoming shows?
Tour was a great adventure. 11 Shows in 6 different
Country's…which underground band isn´t dreaming for
something like this?! The tourlife is hard work, but also a
lot of fun. You have to be very disciplined and can not make
party every night, because you have to travel many
kilometers to the next show and have to be fit. Maybe you
can make more party when you have your own driver… But it
makes appetite for more wink
emoticon This year we actually fixed some little
Underground Festival-Gigs like the Ground Force Festival or
the M.I.S.E. Open Air where we are going to play with bands
like Dust Bolt or Evil Invaders. We are also going to play a
little Tour between Germany which lead us in City's like
Hamburg and Berlin and we are ready for a lot of more
Give me 5 bands you would love to open up for, live, and
are a lot of Bands we like to play with...but if we have to
chose 5 than Havok, Slayer, Exodus, Angelus Apatrida and
How much of a DIY scene is there still left around the world
that can support you if you want to tour or release an album
on your own?
an underground Band like us without a label it´s hard work
to reach more thrasher, get more and bigger shows and so
on…It´s very necessary to build up an network with other
Bands and supporters. Social Media like Facebook make this
much easier. But you have to spend a lot of time. We are
very happy to work together with the guys of
undergrounded.de. They support underground bands. Help us to
find new concerts, promote us and filming concerts. Check
Internet brought an overpopulation of extreme metal bands
and recordings. Did this affect the quality of the scene?
don´t think so. A lot of these new bands are playing on a
very high level…for example Dust Bolt or Lost Society.
These guys are completely insane! But if you want to be sure
that the bands are really good, you have to check them live.
Some bands sounds on CD amazing…and live they totally
What’s your opinion about underground and thrash metal,
underground or not, these days? In which aspects the scene
got better and in which aspects did it get worse?
Metal is pure underground. There are only a few Thrash bands
which are more than an underground band. Only the big
5…but in my opinion the big 4 are only 3 Thrash
Bands…one of these Bands is more a normal Rock Band since
1988… In my opinion, it´s getting harder for underground
Bands to play live for a bigger audience. Many Metalheads
spend their money for big concerts and don´t support the
little underground bands in small venues. So move up your
asses and support your local Metalscene!
Germany is considered the elite, in Europe, in the thrash
scene as well as having some of the most representative
bands on Earth. How is it living there and what was it like
growing up for you in Germany?
us it´s not very special to grown up in Germany. We are
happy about our great Metal scene, but we also like the
metal sound of south and North America for example.
Alright, we’ve come to an end. Do you have any final
thoughts? Thank you for your time…
have to say thank you and we hope that some of your readers
will check our sound and give us a feedback. Thrash!
