Despite being active for three years, the band has just
released one album so far. Why’s that?
needed some time to write all the songs and we also had no
money for the studio. Luckily we won at the battle of bands
and could record the whole album for free.
So, talking about this release "Slaughterlust",
are you satisfied by the outcome? Would you change anything
if you had the chance to do so?
have grown a lot since the release nad now that we look back
there are some things that we could have changed. But since
that is our first album we are satisfied . We really like
the old school sound that the album has to offer..
How much time does it take to put a record together? Do you
have extra material that’s left out after choosing what
fits you most?
of the album took about 4 months because we all attend
either work or college. Funny story: we actually had to
write some songs right before the studio because we didn’t
have enough material for an album.
How do you create these ten songs? Is it predetermined
process, or do you leave substantial space for
we create the main riffs. Later the drums come because it
takes time to fit them in with the riffs. After we play the
song a few times and get used to it we add some more ideas.
Sometimes we finish the song in a few days and it sounds
great, sometimes it takes a lot more time. Lyrics and vocals
If I’m not mistaken, you are unsigned this period of time.
There are many bands that prefer to be independent without
following the specific rules of the labels. What is your
opinion about this? Are you waiting for “THE BIG DEAL”
or are you just looking for a logical and normal contract
and that’s all?
we hope to get a big shot one day, but for now it’ll be ok
to get a normal contract.
If you were able to put one of your songs into a film, what
song would you choose and what type of film or series would
it go with?
would choose God's cock and put it into the porn film. That
would get everyone horny don't you think?
How does the matter look with concerts in your country at
present? Do you play any concerts outside Slovenia?
played all around Slovenia last year, but this year it
stopped for a little bit. So far we didn't play outside
Slovenia, but our main goal is to go outside and introdouce
ourself to other countries.
Do you feel that you are a part of the local extreme scene
or are you more related with bands from other countries?
the first band in our hometown (Velenje, Slovenia), that
plays this kind of music, despite the fact that
there are many different genres over here. It brought
something new and fresh to the Velenje scene. We feel more
connected to the extreme underground scene here in Slovenia.
If CARNIFLIATE was an odour, what the fuck could it be?
corpse that has been in you're car for a little too long,
because you were too lazy to get it out. Definitely
that……. Or some kind of flowers.
Which 5 albums would you consider as the pinnacle of death
metal and grindcore and why?
are some of our favourites:
Cryptopsy – None so vile
Suffocation - Effigy of the Forgotten
Benighted - Asylum Cave
Skinless - Trample the Weak, Hurdle the Dead
Obituary – Slowly we rot
What is the status of the underground metal scene in
Slovenia? Is it evolving or is it stagnant?
but yet it is evolving. There are quite a lot of people that
enjoy this kind of music so that's good. Venues keep making
these kind of concerts happen and so new people come.
Had it not been for Facebook I had not heard of you. How
important are the social media in helping spread a band’s
extremely important. I can only imagine how hard it must
have been to get your band out there before social media,
but now it's difficult to stand out because there are so
many amazing bands you can find on the internet.
Well, that would be all for the moment...thanks very much
for your time. If you have anything to add in the end to
conclude this interview.
