GOREFIELD (Australia)
......Thrash Metal......

GOREFIELD began in January 2011 just as they all do, with three high school headbangers hoping to smash, bash and thrash their way to the very top.

After winning the Coolum Battle of the Bands against over 26 others from all over Queensland at their first gig, GOREFIELD has gone on to release their self-recorded and produced demo EP “(This Is) GOREFIELD” in early 2011, and quickly sell out all 100 copies from their first pressing, as well as placing two of their first tracks on the Triple J Metal charts.

Seeing as the Sunshine Coast wasn’t overly fond of their Thrashing ways, GOREFIELD decided to pack up and head for the big smoke at the start of 2012, the city of Brisbane, Australia.

Since then they GOREFIELD have immersed themselves in the thriving local metal scene, and also played shows interstate in Sydney, alongside some of Australia’s best known metal acts.

December 2012 GOREFIELD entered Tall Poppy Studios in Brisbane with lead engineer Gareth David to record their debut album ‘As Dawn Bleeds The Sky…’. Following this chaotic rush to complete an entire album in only 3 days recording time, the lead single has since been sent to Tom Coyne (Karnivool, Dead Letter Circus, Adele) @ Sterling Sound in Los Angeles for mastering. The magnificent album cover art was designed and painted by Andrei Bouzikov, famous for working with such bands as Municipal Waste, Toxic Holocaust and Skeletonwitch.

Tom Breedon of The Metal Review has favorably reviewed “As Dawn Bleeds The Sky…” giving it 4/5. Quoted as saying; “This band offers an uncompromising sound packed to the rafters with driving riffs, compelling shifts in tempo and a refreshingly raw, old school sounding vocal leading the way. Having supported Dutch symphonic metallers Epica earlier this year, Gorefield are already starting to make some serious noise down under. Judging by the tunes on this record, it’s not hard to see why.”

Their album’s lead single ‘Love Thy Enemy’ has gone to number 1 on the Triple J Metal Charts and stayed in the top 10 for over two months which has lead to it being played on Triple J radio during their heavy metal segment, 'The Racket', as well as being played on Gold Coast station, Rabid Noise Radio and USA radio station, Asgard Radio. GOREFIELD has also been chosen as the featured artist on Melbourne radio station Heavy Decibels Radio.

As well as this, ‘Love Thy Enemy’ has been accepted on a metal compilation called 'The Euphony Fusion VII' that was handed out at Slayer, Anthrax, Opeth and Periphery concerts nationwide.

Because of all the commotion, GOREFIELD has been chosen to open for two international metal acts, Korpiklaani (Finland) and the mighty Dutch symphonic metal act, EPICA at the Brisbane Hi-Fi.

Later on in the year GOREFIELD will be embarking on their first National tour in support of their album as well as playing alongside Elm Street (VIC), Widow (USA) and Razorwyre (NZ) at the 2 day Steel Assassins festival in Sydney.
