 
2010:
The release of Counting the Body Toll
with the new line-up. The recording was made
with mr Henri Virsell at his studio. DEAD
SAMARITAN also made their first appearance
with the new line-up at Varjobaari, Tampere,
with their fellow band NATION DESPAIR.
The place is very small, but it was packed with
people and it made the band feel very happy and
confident about their live presence. More gigs
were to follow during the year. The singer
Valendis Suomalainen gave birth to her daughter
on October, but she will continue fully with the
band "business as usual". The band
also participated on a metal compilation called D.O.P.
3 with the track Laid to Waste.
2009:
Rehearsing and making new songs. New full
line-up in December with the following members: Valendis
Suomalainen, Matti Viholainen, Marko
Saarinen, Eero Virtanen and Janne
Honkanen. Valendis also sings for HEREM
and Matti and Eero have the band STANDARD
ISSUE DEATH.
2008:
Return from the hibernation that lasted for a
couple of years. At first it was just Marko and
Janne warming up some of the old stuff, but soon
the plans started getting more serious, and the
idea of a whole, fresh new start came up.
2007:
On hiatus.
2006:
In the beginning of 2006 the bassist Marcus
Moberg had left to concentrate to his guitar
duties in DEAD IN THE WATER (with Putte
on guitars and vocals) and the band only
rehearsed like once. Since Marko was quite
drained out of energy, Eetu had some new furious
song ideas, but Marko had too much to do at work
and getting his studies finished, so the band
just went on a hiatus.
2005:
The Bone Hill Revelation demo had so much
positive attention, it also caught the eye of
many gig organizers. So the year was more or
less spent on doing gigs. Later that same
year Jussi Leppänen had to leave the
band and the guitarist Eetu Tingander
(now the bassist/vocalist of NATION DESPAIR
fame) was recruited. DEAD SAMARITAN
played their last gig before the hiatus in Hämeenlinna
at the Rocklinna Metal Fest with him.
2004:
Much more intense rehearsing and the result was
the first demo Bone Hill Revelation under
the new band name. The positive reactions from
the media and the audience surprised the band,
and it deserved them a lot of good attention.
2003:
The band replaced Teemu with Jussi Leppänen
on the second guitar and soon they changed the
name to DEAD SAMARITAN. New songs seemed
to be a lot tighter and more rehearsal time was
spent.
2002:
More rehearsing was done and the second demo
called Dark Matter was recorded. It moved
the level up a notch and deserved the band their
first gig ever. It was played in Lahti at Hell
On Earth III with the likes of FUNERIS
NOCTURNUM, NOWEN and GLORIA MORTI.
2001:
On 4th of January guitarist Marko Saarinen
discussed with drummer Janne Honkanen at
a metal festival in Hämeenlinna that they
should start a metal band. Since Marko had
already played a lot in different bands with
vocalist Pasi "Putte" Lehtinen,
he wanted Putte to be their throat. Soon they
found the bass player in one certain Marcus
Moberg (an alias for Markus Maltari).
who was also an old acquaintance and a friend
from previous bands. Later that summer the band
recruited a second guitarist Teemu Raunio,
who is also known today as the Antinist of the
band SIGHTLESS. During the autumn the
first demo called First Kill was recorded
under the now beculiar moniker THE BEAUTY OF
DYING. Though the band name may sound quite
gothic, the music was death and thrash metal
from the very beginning.
2001:
El 04 de Enero el guitarrista Marko Saarinen
conversa con el baterista Janne Honkanen en un
festival de Metal en Hämeenlinna acerca de
formar una banda. Ya que Marko habia tocado en
muchas diferentes bandas con el vocalista Pasi
"Putte" Lehtinen, quiso que fuera él
quien se haga cargo de las voces. Pronto
encuentran al bajista Marcus Moberg quien fue un
viejo conocido y amigo de bandas anteriores.
Pronto en aquel verano la banda recluta un
segundo guitarrista Teemu Raunio, quien es también
conocido como miembro de la banda SIGHTLESS.
Durante el otoño el primer demo llamado "First
Kill " fué grabado bajo el ahora
peculiar nombre THE BEAUTY OF DYING. Aunque el
nombre de la banda sonaba bastante gótico, la música
fué death y thrash metal desde un comienzo.
2002:
Ensayos muy intensos y se lleva a cabo la
grabación del demo " Dark Matter".
Lo cual elevó el nivel de la banda y les
valió su primera presentación en vivo. La cual
se llevó a cabo en Lahti en el Hell On Earth
III junto a las bandas FUNERIS NOCTURNUM,
NOWEN y GLORIA MORTI.
2003:
La banda reemplaza a Teemu con Jussi Leppänen
en la segunda guitarra y pronto cambian el
nombre a DEAD SAMARITAN. Las nuevas canciones
parecieron ser más intensas y más tiempo de
ensayo tuvo que ser empleado.
2004:
Ensayos mucho más intensos y el resultado fué
el primer demo "Bone Hill
Revelation" bajo el nuevo nombre de la
banda. Las reacciones positivas de los medios y
de la audiencia sorprendieron a la banda, haciéndose
merecedores de mucha buena atención.
2005:
El demo "Bone Hill Revelation" tuvo
una aceptación bastante positiva y captó mucho
la atención de organizadores de conciertos. Así
que este año fué mas o menos invertido en
hacer conciertos. Poco después el mismo año Jussi
Leppänen tuvo que dejar la banda y el
guitarrista Eetu Tingander fué
reclutado. DEAD SAMARITAN toca su último
concierto antes de entrar en receso, en Hämeenlinna
en el The
Rocklinna Metal Fest.
2006:
A comienzos del 2006 el bajista Marcus Moberg
se aleja para concentrarse en sus labores
como guitarrista en DEAD IN WATER (con Putte en
guitarra y voz) y la banda ensayaba a veces.
Marko esta falto de energía, Eetu tenía nuevas
y furiosas canciones, pero Marko tenía mucho
trabajo que hacer y finalizar sus estudios, así
que la banda entra en receso.
2007:
En receso
2008:
Retorno de un largo periodo de hibernación de 2
años. Al comienzo sólo Marko y Janne empezaron
a desenterrar algo del viejo material, pero
pronto los planes empezaron hacerse más serios
y la idea de un nuevo comienzo se hizo más
evidente.
2009:
Ensayando y haciendo nuevas canciones. Nueva
alineación completada en Diciembre con los
siguientes miembros: Valendis Suomalainen,
Matti Viholainen, Marko Saarinen, Eero
Virtanen y Janne Honkanen. Valendis
canta también para la banda HEREM y Matti y
Eero tienen otra banda paralela llamada STANDARD
ISSUE DEATH.
2010:
Se lleva a cabo el lanzamiento de "Counting
the Body Toll " con la nueva alineación.
La grabación fué realizada con Mr. Henri
Virsell en su estudio. DEAD SAMARITAN asimismo
hizo su primera aparición con la nueva formación
en Varjobaari, Tampere, con sus compañeros de
la banda NATION DESPAIR. El lugar es muy pequeño
pero estuvo repleto de gente lo cual hizo sentir
feliz a la banda. Más actuaciones en vivo se
vienen durante el año. La vocalista Valendis
Suomalainen dió a luz a su hija en Octubre,
pero ella continuará sus actividades con la
banda. DEAD SAMARITAN participó también en un
compilatorio de bandas metal llamado D.O.P 3 con
el tema "Laid To Waste"
2011:
DEAD SAMARITAN
se encuentra trabajando duramente en nuevo
material, el cual es suficiente como para un
nuevo larga duración. La banda ha tenido también
unas cuantas apariciones en vivo y uno de los
conciertos ha sido grabado a fines de ser usados
en un próximo video. En Mayo DEAD SAMARITAN
firmó un contrato con The Pain Fucktory Agency
a fin de incrementar la promoción de la banda.
